Astro Seeing
Astro Seeing helps amateur astronomers and astrophotographers decide whether tonight is worth setting up for, and what their equipment will show. Ask Claude about the sky at any place and it can use eight read-only tools: - Weather forecast: current conditions and hourly forecasts from up to six sources (Open-Meteo, OpenWeatherMap, WeatherAPI, Tomorrow.io, AccuWeather, Meteosource), with a consensus and the hours where the sources disagree. - 7-night outlook: cloud, humidity, wind, temperature, rain chance and moon phase for each night of the week. - Seeing forecast: astronomical seeing, transparency and atmospheric stability from 7Timer. - Light pollution: an estimated Bortle class, sky brightness and limiting magnitude. - ISS passes: upcoming visible passes with times, directions and brightness. - Location search: turns a place name or postcode into coordinates. - Sampling analysis: whether a telescope and camera are over- or under-sampled for the seeing. - Field of view: magnification, true field and exit pupil for an eyepiece, or pixel scale and sensor field for a camera. No account or API key is needed, and nothing is kept beyond short-lived caches. Forecasts can be wrong; the tools report where sources disagree rather than hide it. The same data powers the free Astro Seeing web app and iOS and Android apps.
