Corroborum lets Claude search the scholarly literature directly. Ask a research question in plain language and Claude calls Corroborum to find real papers: each result is a live record from OpenAlex, the open catalogue of over 300 million scholarly works (220M+ research papers across every field), with its title, authors, year, venue, citation count, full abstract when one exists, DOI, and a link to a free full-text copy when one exists. Two tools: - search_papers: ranked search for one plain-language query, with optional filters (years, publication types, fields, open access, minimum citations, language, countries, excluding preprints or retracted papers) and paging. A DOI or OpenAlex id as the query puts that paper first. - expand_citations: follow the citation graph from a paper: its references, the works citing it, or related works. Every hit carries the paper's retraction status from OpenAlex at search time, so Claude can tell you before you rely on a paper that has been retracted. Results are data for Claude to read and cite; you open the DOI to check the source yourself. Useful for literature reviews, thesis and grant writing, checking the evidence behind a claim, clinical and policy questions, and any decision where you want the research behind it. Privacy: the text of your queries is not stored. To answer a search, the query is sent to OpenAlex and to Voyage AI (relevance ranking).
