Craft Quantities
Craft Quantities is a free construction estimating site, and this connector runs its own code: the same calculators, takeoffs, planner and House Estimator the pages run, so an answer here matches the page to the digit. Ask for a quantity and Claude gets the figure in metric and US customary, every input with where it came from, the working, the calculator's version and sources, a ready citation and a link that opens the page with the same inputs. Whole jobs work the same way: a takeoff lists every row of a bathroom, deck, roof or room fit-out with what to order and the allowance it used; the room planner plans rooms, bathrooms, slabs, decks, fences, stairs and a roof over them; the House Estimator and the Construction Canvas draw a house, a deck or a fence and list everything it is built from, with a link that opens the drawing on the site. It also reads a contractor's quote against the job's own figures, works backwards from what you already have (tins, sheets, bags) to the area it covers, explains common building defects (cracks, damp, leaks) with their candidate causes and the checks that tell them apart, names which kind of document governs a subject in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, translates trade terms between those markets, and turns a materials list into a supplier request. What it does not do: it supplies no prices, sizes no structure and certifies nothing. Quantities are for planning and ordering; spans, loads and code compliance belong to an engineer or the building official. No account, no key, nothing stored: a request is computed and forgotten.
