GovBot Weather, Water & Floods
GovBot Weather, Water & Floods is a remote, read-only MCP server operated by Ideation Lab, Corp. It requires no account. It returns public weather, rainfall, river and flood records for a latitude and longitude, a small area, a state or a county, each result with its source and date. What it returns: - Current conditions: the National Weather Service seven-day forecast and active alerts for a point. - Past events: NWS flood warning polygons and flood Local Storm Reports for a window, archived IPAWS public alert messages, and the NOAA MRMS radar-gauge rainfall estimate for a past day. - Frequency: the NOAA Atlas 14 100-year 24-hour precipitation depth at a point. - Infrastructure: NOAA river gauge metadata, active USGS stream sites in an area and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers National Levee Database records. - FEMA flood studies: the streams of a county's FEMA flood study and modeled water-surface elevations at 10, 4, 2, 1 and 0.2 percent annual chance along a stream, in the vertical datum as recorded. Typical use: review a past flood event in a place, with the warnings issued, the storm reports and the rainfall that fell, then compare the rainfall with its 100-year depth and the FEMA study elevations of a nearby stream. How results are qualified: archived alerts, past warnings and storm reports are historical records, not current warnings; storm reports are preliminary; rainfall estimates, precipitation frequency and flood study elevations are estimates, statistics and model results, not forecasts, observed water levels or regulatory determinations. For current warnings and safety decisions, official NWS products and local emergency officials are authoritative. The service does not certify flood safety or give insurance, engineering or legal determinations. Not affiliated with NOAA, FEMA, USGS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or any government agency. The server writes nothing.
