IHME GBD
Ask Claude questions about the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation's Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study — the largest and most comprehensive effort to quantify health loss across places and over time — for any country, region, cause, or risk factor. The connector retrieves results directly from the GBD database; it does not model or generate new values. Query deaths, DALYs, YLLs, and YLDs; risk factor exposures and attributable burden; life expectancy, healthy life expectancy (HALE), child mortality, population, and fertility; and detailed injury, impairment, and pathogen data — with Socio-demographic Index (SDI) context for development comparisons. Beyond direct queries, five ready-made profiles generate narrative overviews with tables, charts, and maps: Location, Location Comparison, Disease, Sub-cause Comparison, and Risk-Outcome. Ask naturally, then narrow, broaden, or challenge the results through follow-up — no special commands required. Example questions: • What are the top causes of death in Nigeria? • How has life expectancy in China changed over time? • Which risk factors drive the most cardiovascular disease in Latin America? • Compare child mortality across India's states. Think of it as a fast, conversational front-end for exploring GBD data — complementing IHME's GBD Compare and Results Tool rather than replacing them.
