刀 Katana — Japan Stock Screener
Katana gives Claude the financial data and screening engine of katanascreener.com, built on annual securities reports filed with EDINET (Financial Services Agency of Japan). It covers about 3,800 listed companies. Describe the companies you are looking for, and Claude turns your idea into conditions Katana can evaluate across the whole market: existing metrics, aggregates over up to 10 fiscal years (mean, median, min, max, CAGR), and custom formulas written for that request, such as interest income divided by cash, or cash minus interest-bearing debt relative to pre-tax profit. Word conditions check whether a term appears in the main sections of each company's latest annual report, such as the business description, business risks, and R&D. Tools: - List Katana metrics: metric keys with Japanese and English names, units, and missing counts, plus the syntax for period aggregates and custom formulas. - List preset screens: 12 published screens, including Graham, Piotroski, Greenblatt, and Lynch-style criteria, with their sources. - Screen Japanese listed companies: filter by financial conditions, period aggregates, custom formulas, and word conditions, and return the requested columns with per-metric coverage and the data timestamp. - Company financial history: one company's latest metrics and up to 10 fiscal years of financials. All tools are read-only. Amounts are in JPY and ratios are decimals. Price-based metrics are as of each fiscal year end, not current prices. Missing values are returned as null, distinct from zero. Report text is not returned; word conditions return the matching section names and a link to the filing on EDINET. Data is updated every morning and is the same data shown on katanascreener.com. Sign-in with a free Katana account is required. Tool calls are limited per day (Japan time): 50 for registered users and 500 on a paid plan. Katana provides data and screening only. It does not recommend securities.
