kosmos.info.pl
kosmos.info.pl helps skywatchers in Poland decide whether to look up tonight. The server combines data it already keeps for its pages: MET Norway's cloud forecast (CC BY 4.0), the ISS orbit from CelesTrak, NOAA's Kp index and the IMO's meteor shower calendar, with its own calculations of the night, the moon and the planets. Tools: - tonight_sky: tonight's verdict for one of the 18 Polish voivodeship cities (worth it, maybe, not worth it) and why: the dark hours and the clearest stretch, cloud cover hour by hour, the moon, a visible ISS pass, the aurora's chance, the planets up and a meteor shower near its maximum. - iss_passes: visible passes of the International Space Station over a city in the next 10 days, with times, directions, height and brightness. - aurora_forecast: whether the northern lights can be seen in the north, centre and south of Poland or in a given city tonight, the Kp each needs, Kp now and NOAA's forecast. - planets_tonight: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn over a city for the next seven nights. - meteor_showers: the main showers of the next twelve months with their maxima and best hours, or one shower's night in each of the 18 cities. - astronomy_picture: NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, today's, with its explanation (in Polish when the machine translation is ready) and credit. - near_earth_objects: asteroids and comets passing Earth over up to seven days, from NASA's NeoWs: when, how far (km and lunar distances), how fast, how big, and NASA's hazard class. Coordinates pick the nearest of the 18 cities. Polish time; every answer links the page. Answers in Polish or English. No account; nothing of a request is stored.
