Orchard is a browser-based parametric CAD platform. This connector lets Claude design real, manufacturable parts in it: brackets, enclosures, motor mounts, shafts, multi-part assemblies and engineering drawings. Claude works in your own open Orchard editor tab, under your account, so you watch every feature appear and can take over at any time. Each build follows an engineering loop: - Plan: Claude declares every feature (holes, bores, cuts, fillets) with measurable expectations before modeling. - Build: sketches, extrudes, patterns and fillets run in a real CAD kernel (OpenCASCADE), with a catalog of standard hardware — bearings, metric fasteners, NEMA motors — so mating features fit. - Check: a built-in critique compares the geometry with the plan and flags missing features or manufacturing problems. Saving is refused until it passes. - Save: work is saved to your Orchard account, as a private draft by default, with full version history. Claude can also find and reopen your existing designs ("keep working on the bracket"), look up applied engineering knowledge (fastener clearances, wall thicknesses, fits, materials), compare a rebuilt part with an imported STEP reference, and help you through Orchard Academy lessons.
