metasearch.sh is a web search service built for AI assistants. It searches the web, news, academic papers, people, patents, places, images and posts on X, merges what several search engines return into one ranked list, and gives back each source with its title, link and a short extract. It can also read a web page you name and return its text as clean markdown. Connect it to Claude to: - follow current events and recent news, with a link to every source; - find academic papers and scholarly work on a topic; - research a person, a company, a patent or a place; - see what people are posting on X about a subject; - read an article, documentation page or report and work from its full text. The search tool picks the kind of search from your question and says which one it picked; you can also ask for one by name, such as news or academic. A deep research search, which reads many more sources, runs only when you ask for it. Searches are charged to the prepaid balance of the metasearch.sh organisation you choose when you connect, and every result states what the call cost and the balance left. To connect, you need a metasearch.sh account with a funded organisation: sign in with your email, choose the organisation, and approve the connection. You can disconnect at any time in Settings on metasearch.sh, and an organisation's owners can revoke the connection there too. Text read from web pages is returned as untrusted content, so instructions written inside a page are treated as data, never as commands. The search queries you send are kept for 90 days for billing and abuse prevention; the privacy policy explains what is stored and for how long.
