moddl
moddl lets Claude read, check and edit IFC building models (BIM) without ever handling the file itself. Claude works through the model's schema, answers and effect reports; moddl does the geometry and writes the file. What you can do: - Analyse: areas, volumes, quantities and material sums across the whole model, per storey, type or room. Every number states where it comes from (a value in the file or a measured body) and how much of the model it covers. - Check: missing materials or properties, elements without a storey, property values that contradict the geometry, clashes and gaps. - Edit: properties and property sets, class, dimensions, placement; move, rotate, copy and delete elements; storey, host and type relations. - Create: elements from a type catalog, openings with doors and windows in walls, terrain. - Revisions: every write creates a new revision. Undo, restore any earlier state and export the changed .ifc. Every change names its targets in advance and reports afterwards exactly what it changed, rejected or cloned, so a broad prompt cannot silently touch hundreds of elements. Geometry is re-measured after each write; changes that fail the checks are not written. Supports IFC4 and IFC4X3 (including infrastructure, alignment and terrain); IFC2X3 is converted on upload. Units and origin are normalised on ingest. Models are uploaded and downloaded in the moddl web viewer at moddl.site, where you also see every change in 3D. Free during the open beta.
