Cloud FinOps
Cloud FinOps gives Claude a practitioner-written FinOps library, maintained by OptimNow and refreshed twice a month. Two kinds of content: - 35 reference guides on billing mechanics and practice: AWS, Azure and GCP commitments (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, CUDs), Kubernetes cost allocation, AI and LLM spend (Anthropic, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI), data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric), tagging governance, allocation, showback and chargeback, anomaly management, KPIs, SaaS and AI coding tool spend, and GreenOps. - 37 waste runbooks for named patterns such as zombie NAT gateways, snapshot sprawl, idle VMs, orphaned disks and IPs, expiring commitments without a renewal decision, S3 lifecycle gaps and oversized GPU instances. Each runbook gives the detection logic, a query to run in your own account, the fix and its risks. Six read-only tools let Claude list, search and read the guides (section by section, to keep answers short) and the runbooks. Search filters follow the FinOps Framework (domain, capability, phase, persona) and runbook facets (scope, service, waste category, confidence). What it does not do: it never connects to your cloud accounts or billing data, needs no account or credentials, and stores no conversation. Example questions: "How should I size a Savings Plan?", "How do I design chargeback for shared Kubernetes clusters?", "Which of our snapshots can we delete safely?" Figures in the guides illustrate billing mechanics and are dated; they are not live prices. Built by OptimNow, a FinOps consultancy. The same content is available as an open-source Claude plugin on GitHub.
