PCBEditor turns a plain-language description into a complete printed circuit board: real parts with verified pinouts, a schematic, placement, routing on every layer and a design-rule check. Ask Claude for a board in one sentence and get it back with Gerber and KiCad files. Anything that could not be routed is reported, not hidden. What Claude can do with it: - Design a board from a description. If the description leaves a real choice open, such as which part to use, the design pauses and Claude asks you. - Change an existing board in plain language: add or replace parts, move components, change the outline or connectors, re-route nets. - Check a board: run the design-rule check, or get an engineering review of power, decoupling, thermal, signal integrity and manufacturability. - Export for manufacture: Gerber X2, Excellon drill, BOM and pick-and-place, plus IPC-2581, ODB++, STEP 3D, PDFs or a KiCad project. Export is refused while the board has copper shorts or unaccepted design-rule errors. - Import a KiCad board, and open any design in PCBEditor's browser editor (2D, 3D, schematic) for manual work. - Search PCBEditor's verified parts and footprint library, and keep your own parts inventory so designs use the parts you have.
