Plain-AyI is a free, read-only guide to open-source AI projects, written in everyday language for non-technical people and developers alike. Ask Claude in plain words, for example "a free app that turns my voice recordings into text without them leaving my laptop", and the connector searches the guide and returns matching projects. For each one it gives what it does and who it's for, whether you need to code, what it costs (including when a paid AI account is needed), whether your data stays on your device, simple first steps, the licence, and links to the official GitHub page or website. The list grows every day. High-risk categories (face and voice copying, security testing, investing) only appear once a person has approved them. Ratings reflect public activity such as stars, contributors and downloads, not a judgement of which project matters most. The connector is public and read-only. It needs no account and keeps no record of who asked.
