Search Fragments
Search Fragments helps with the thing you can't quite name: a book, film, song, artwork, person, place or event you remember only in pieces. Describe what you remember, for example "the Dickens novel he never finished, about an opium-smoking choirmaster", and Search Fragments looks for sources that match those details. It then gives one of three answers: - A name, with a quote from a cited source that supports it, so you can check the match yourself. - A short list of leads to check, when the sources point somewhere but don't confirm every detail. - An honest "no", when the sources don't support an answer. It won't make something up to fill the gap. It is built for half-remembered descriptions. It is not a general search engine or a trivia tool: for a direct factual question, ordinary search is faster. A second tool, Verify Claim, checks one specific statement against current web sources. It returns a verdict with cited evidence and the limits of what that evidence shows. You can also say whether a result was right, partly right or wrong, which helps improve future results. Search Fragments is a free, non-commercial prototype. Lookups usually take 10–20 seconds. No account is needed.
