Songlinks
Songlinks answers one question about music rights registrations: which real person a songwriter’s name or IPI name number belongs to. One writer is often registered many times: under a full name and a short one, with and without a middle initial, under more than one IPI name number, and sometimes with no number at all. Two different writers can share a name exactly. Songlinks groups those registrations into persons, each with a stable person ID and a public page that shows what every grouping rests on. Four read-only tools: find_songwriter: the people a name could be, with their registered names, IPI name numbers and how many works. Add a song title to tell writers with the same name apart. get_songwriter: one person by ID: the registrations joined into them and why, the records kept apart as possibly the same person, and their first works. songwriter_by_ipi: who holds an IPI name number. check_writers: up to 50 IPI name numbers at once, flagging writers whose works sit under another spelling or number. Every answer links the person’s page, so the assistant can cite it and you can check it. No account or sign-in is needed. Songlinks is in beta. Its groupings are machine output, not checked by a person unless the page says so, and not for rights or royalty decisions. It does not report ownership shares.
