Terminal Tax
Terminal Tax connects your ChatGPT conversation to a Terminal Tax filing page for one original tax year 2025 US federal individual income tax return (Form 1040 or 1040-SR, plus narrow Form 1040-SS and 1040-NR situations). The plugin's tools start a filing session, provide the return packet schema and starter templates, and check a prepared return packet. ChatGPT sends the figures from your tax forms, the choices you state, and the identity details the return needs: your legal name, date of birth, mailing address, occupation, email, mobile number, whether you filed last year and last year's adjusted gross income, your dependents' names and, only when you choose direct deposit or an electronic payment and give it in chat, your bank account. The checks are mechanical: the tools do not choose tax treatments, fill in missing facts or give tax advice. When something is missing or unsupported, the response names the item so ChatGPT can ask you. When the packet passes the checks, the response contains one link to a Terminal Tax filing page. On that page you give permission for your tax information to be used, confirm or correct your details, type your Social Security number and any PINs, review the complete return, enter a card in the payment processor's fields, and sign the return. After you sign, the filing page sends the return to the IRS. Limitations: tax year 2025 and federal only; no state, territory or local return; no amended return (1040-X) or extension (4868). No Terminal Tax account, sign-in or install is needed.
