The Korean Today Spell Checker

ClaudeCommunityby SmileStory Co., Ltd.

The Korean Today Spell Checker finds spelling and spacing errors in Korean text. It is run by The Korean Today (코리안투데이), a registered Seoul news outlet, and uses a free rule-based engine (Kiwi and hunspell-ko plus rules refined by proofreading the outlet's own articles). For each issue it returns the position in your text, the suggested correction, a level and a short reason in Korean. "error" marks a certain mistake (for example 몇일 → 며칠, 할수 있다 → 할 수 있다); "check" marks a word that depends on meaning and should be reviewed (for example 금새 vs 금세). Proper nouns, quotations and writing style are left alone. Typical uses: proofreading a Korean email, report or post before sending it, learning why a spelling is wrong, and checking text written by people learning Korean. Claude can explain each issue and rewrite the corrected sentence. One tool, check_korean, takes up to 10,000 characters per call. It only reads the text you send and returns results; nothing is saved and nothing is changed anywhere. No account or API key is needed. This is an automated checker. It does not catch every error and can be wrong, so review its suggestions before relying on them.
