Their First
Their First helps parents, caregivers and early-years educators get an activity ready for a young child: find the right picture cards, hear each one spoken, gather them into a set and print it. What you can do • Search more than 1,000 picture word cards and more than 500 everyday phrases in eight languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Korean and Russian. Every word and phrase card has a picture and a recording in each of these languages, in a female and a male voice. • Narrow a search by category (animals, food and drink, feelings and more), by daily routine (mealtime, bath time, bedtime and more), by phrase theme and, for word cards, by age: 0–24 months, 2–3 years or 3–5 years. • Find phonics words and short sentences by sound, lesson by lesson, most with a recording. • Choose artworks for a picture talk, with each work's title, artist, date, museum or site where known, and credit line. • Read a place's story and facts in one of 11 languages. • Find the lines of everyday conversations, such as bedtime and mealtime, in English, Spanish and Korean, with recordings. • Make number cards from 0 to 100, and letter cards from A to Z with example picture words. • Preview pictures and play recordings in the conversation before you choose. • Print a ready-made set in one step: first animals, body parts, mealtime, bath time, bedtime, getting dressed, feelings, colors and more, by age, as words or phrases. • Every artwork comes with three picture-talk questions to ask a child while you look at it together. • Collect up to 40 cards into a set and make a printable: picture cards, four to a page; word strips, eight to a page; a list in two or three languages; or one sheet per card with all its details, such as an artwork with its credit line or a place with its story. A print link stays open for 24 hours. • Find a matching guide or printable on theirfirstwords.org when one fits the activity you are planning. Who it is for Their First is for adults preparing activities: parents, grandparents, caregivers, preschool and early-years teachers, and language tutors. It is not a children's app. You choose the cards here, then use them with your child or your class. Privacy There is no account and no sign-in, and Their First keeps no profiles.
