Vegferd
Vegferd tells you what the drive you are about to make will be like, from public Norwegian data: the traffic on the way into the city, the road conditions over the mountain on the way to the cabin, and the ferries in between. In ChatGPT, Vegferd plans the trip and answers questions about it. Ferries. Much of Norway's road network runs on ferries, so Vegferd watches them continuously. Ask when the next ferry leaves from a quay, or plan a drive and get the departure you will catch on every crossing, the wait at the quay, and delays and cancellations as they happen. Road conditions, not weather. Ask whether a mountain pass is closed or under convoy driving, what the road-side stations measure right now, and what the conditions will be where you pass, at the time you pass. Closed roads and the Public Roads Administration's traffic messages are part of the plan. Traffic. Ask whether there is more traffic than usual on the route, stretch by stretch, compared with a normal day at that hour. Electric. Many of us drive electric, so Vegferd finds the charging stations along the route, in driving order, together with rest areas and other stops. Cost and alternatives. Ask what the trip costs in tolls and ferry fares, and for the other ways to go: shortest, without tolls, without ferries, or over another mountain pass. Routes are computed on Vegferd's own road network, built on top of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's road data. Live data comes from Statens vegvesen, Entur, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, Kartverket and NOBIL. Every answer names its sources and how old the data is. Norway only. You sign in with your Vegferd account, the same one as in the app. Vegferd does not store what you ask; see vegferd.no/ai-privacy.
