Vidskim
Claude can't watch YouTube videos on its own. Vidskim gives Claude the video's real transcript, so answers come from what was actually said, with a clickable timestamp next to every claim. What you can ask: • Summarize a lecture, podcast, or interview as notes with timestamps • Find where a speaker talks about a topic, a name, or a quote • Turn a video into a post, a newsletter section, or a study guide with exact quotes • See what a channel posted recently and compare the videos • Find videos on a topic when you don't have a link yet Tools: get_transcript returns the transcript in Markdown with the video's chapters and a timestamp link on every paragraph. Long videos come in parts, any time range can be read on its own, and YouTube's machine translation is available for other languages. search_transcript finds the passages about a topic inside one video. get_video_info returns the title, channel, date, views, description, and chapters. search_youtube finds videos by topic, and list_channel_videos lists a channel's latest uploads or a playlist. Every tool is read-only. Works with any public YouTube video that has captions, including auto-generated ones, in any language. Sign in with Google, no API key. The free plan covers 30 videos a month. Each video counts once, so follow-up questions and searches inside it are free. Vidskim never posts, comments, or touches your YouTube account.
